We worked with Interseal and developed a standard sealing solution particularly for the Pharmaceutical – BioPharma and food industries in Ireland. We are excited to see great interest in this product range and now a number of installations performing very well. But more importantly we can now provide a solution to an ongoing problem which is a serious concern in the pharmaceutical and food sectors.

SMIDDY(IMSC)Ltd As mechanical seal consultants we are aware of the risk of process contamination when using traditional mechanical seals with barrier fluids such as food grade oils, or purified water. When using gas seals there’s always a risk of contamination from carbon back deposits entering the process.
Agitators and mixers primarily use traditional sealing technology which require extensive maintenance. Typically, they are vulnerable to the occurring axial and radial movement of the mixer shaft. When using conventional sealing technologies there is always a risk of contamination of the mixed product. This is avoidable!
Our key objectives, to provide solutions to overcome (A) the risk of process contamination, and (B) provide a solution for shaft radial and axil movement relative to the shaft seal.
We did extensive research with our German colleagues, at Interseal Germany. Based on the success of Pfaudler Interseal in Europe, Asian and American, we can now provide this seal technology to our customers in Ireland.
